East Kalimantan Economic Growth in 2024 grows 6.17% (c to c)

Wednesday (5/2), BPS-Statistics East Kalimantan Province has released East Kalimantan economic growth figures which grew 6.12% (y on y) and 6.17% (c to c). Cumulatively (year 2024), the highest growth occurred in the Government Administration, Defense, and Social Security Business Field (in terms of business fields) and in terms of expenditure, the highest economic growth occurred in the Government Consumption component (PKP). The positive performance of the East Kalimantan economy was influenced by domestic factors, namely increased government spending, increased construction activity (IKN, and other construction), increased community activity on various religious holiday moments, and the holding of various national and international events (such as the Indonesian Independence Day Celebration in IKN, the 2024 General Election, the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada, the XXX National MTQ, etc.), the existence of new industries operating in this region, as well as global factors such as an increase in demand for various export commodities.
