XXIX Regional Autonomy Day 2025

Every April 25, Indonesia commemorates Regional Autonomy Day. This commemoration aims to remind the importance of implementing regional autonomy as a form of decentralization of power from the central government to the regions, so that the regions can regulate and manage the interests of their own people according to their potential and characteristics.

Do you know? This year Balikpapan Municipality is hosting the peak of the commemoration of the XXIXth Regional Autonomy Day (Otda) which carries the theme: "Synergy between the Center and the Regions to Build the Archipelago Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045" 🤩

The synergy can be illustrated through the performance of local governments. Development performance in the regions is recorded in BPS data, one of which is the Human Development Index (HDI). Human development in Balikpapan City in 2024 has the status of "VERY HIGH" with a value of 82.62 points. This HDI figure continues to show growth over the last 3 years.
