National Family Day

On June 29, 2025 yesterday we commemorated National Family Day (Harganas) which is a moment of reflection on the importance of family as the foundation of national development. In the midst of current social and economic dynamics, strengthening family resilience and welfare is crucial.

In 2023, there are 253,601 families in Balikpapan City spread across 34 urban villages.

🏘 Of this number, Kelurahan Manggar is the area with the largest number of families, which is 16,417 families. This shows the importance of population-based development planning in densely populated areas.

In 2024, there were 92,061 active family planning participants out of a total of 117,469 couples of childbearing age.

📈 This figure reflects the high participation of Balikpapan people in the family planning program as a form of awareness of the importance of family planning for a better quality of life.

Because family development starts from accurate data. By knowing the number of families, population distribution, and participation in family planning programs, the government can design more effective policies to improve the quality of life of the community.
